With acceptances coming in, it's funny reading the discussion section of people's mdapps. People that look incredible on paper, with 3.8+, 38+, and a slew of impressive extracurriculars routinely get someone nitpick their application with some comment like "Wow, you only have 2 years of clinical experience? Definitely throw in more lower tier schools" or "That lack of research (because a year of research and 2 publications qualifies as such for some people on these forums) is really going to hurt you come application season. You definitely applied too top heavy." And now those same people already have 3 or 4 acceptances. Good call. 👍
Don't mean to come off abrasive, but it always struck me as annoying. It's one thing to try to be helpful, but I don't think that's where this falls. Is it just me? I'm kind of new here, so I'm not quite versed in the accepted etiquette, so if I'm out of place, I apologize. Also, I'm not referring even in the slightest to my own app. But I do like to read others out of curiosity so I've seen example after example of this elsewhere.
