For a medical student recruit, what are the differences, if any, of joining the Army Reserves vs. the Army National Guard? I think both branches offer the MDSSP program, which I'm likely to sign up for soon.
In particular, I'm wondering how the two pathways are different in terms of benefits, service obligations, deployment status, day-to-day work, and residency training considerations.
Also, is one option more attractive than the other? If so, why?
I tried searching the forum and came up with little information. Most of it was ARNG focused.
