Here is what I am thinking of submitting:

"This experience (working on a reservation) is meaningful in that my work with Native Americans has confirmed my belief that I would find the most professional satisfaction in working with Native Americans and other indigent populations.

I found tremendous personal satisfaction in being able to help people with the complicated maze that is federal Indian law. Practicing federal Indian law is quite interesting, and it is one area that many attorneys avoid, because the laws are so different.

When I was helping disabled individuals seek reasonable accommodations, I concluded that I want to be able to help treat the underlying medical condition which afflicted my clients. To them, their treatment was far more important than whether they had a job when they got back from leave or not. I also wanted to know the patholagies of these condition and how these drugs worked.

I felt that I could combine my desire of helping the poor with my interest in the sciences by working as a physician. One of the areas of medicine that I have given serious consideration to working in is the Indian Health Service. I know, from having worked on reservations, that Indians are very underserved medically and that the IHS also has a staffing shotage.

After medical school, I would very much like to work for IHS or an urban Indian clinic. First, I would benefit from their repayment programs. Second, I would also get to work with an appreciative population that I have worked with in the past."

Any thoughts? This is all true btw.
