I have a silly question

On your med school app, is there an area where you can write your legal "nickname" ?

Yes. You have a place for your legal name. Then your preferred name. Then any "alternate" names that may appear on other documents (IDs, transcripts, etc.).

I realized that when professors write my LOR's, they're going to refer me as my "legal English nickname" instead of my Japanese name
