I'm learning more about becoming an ER doc.
I think I've figured out that all med. schools are essentially the same (as far as cirricula) and that being the best (whatever your specialty) depends on where you're accepted as a resident in your field of study. Correct me if I'm wrong...
Anyway, my new question is "Do residency programs look at WHERE you went to school, or what you did while you were there?" Is there a particular school I should try to get into for the Emergency Medicine field? And also, for EM, what's the best residency program out there? Who holds the forefront of cutting-edge care, and innovative ideas?
I want to be the best for my future patients, but I can't seem to find the map that shows me how to get there. Thanks for the help.
