Well, as the med school cycle comes to a close, I'm sure we're all leaving with many lessons learned. I, for one, have had quite a number of adventures throughout the application process, from stressing with friends, to mishaps on the interview trail.

I draw a comic strip about life at UC Berkeley for the Daily Cal. Since I'll be graduating soon, I've been toying with the idea of making a comic strip chronicling my adventures through med school.

I figured we're all bored and/or wildly stressed right now, so why not start with the application process itself.

LMK what you think:

If people like the idea, I'm hoping to cover such lovely topics as:

The Joy of AMCAS
Northwestern panel interviews
The Financial Aid Office
"The Yale System"
The secret AdCom meetings
PBL
High Pass/Pass/Marginal Pass/Marginal Fail/Fail/Low Fail?
Final Decisions
Penn Rejections
Penn Rejections
Being Waitlisted
SDNing

maybe more?

*edit* yeah I know, the website itself is from my old comic strip, so it doesn't quite match up, just testing the waters

this is brilliant, pyrosis. the first comic is already hilarious. i can't wait until charles starts SDNing.

how do you make those drawings? Do you do use a computer program or something? They're pretty neat.

Great idea. I'd love to see more! 👍

Yeah! Keep them coming, I'd love to see what's next. 😉

Oh, I draw them by hand, scan them in, then make them into vector art/paint them in illustrator. Kind of a mix of old skool/new school. I think most real cartoonists who do this method use tablets.

Very cute and interesting 🙂

Just curious, does anybody know of any other med school comic strips out there?

😀 I want to know how charles will respond to SDN..

Penn Rejections
Penn Rejections

I like that Penn Rejections is listed twice. I haven't even seen the comic yet and I'm already laughing. Keep up the good work.

committee rep: Well it looks like your application has not yet been reviewed by the committee. Upon reviewing your file, we will send you an email regarding your status."

P-S: "Ok, thanks."
