Ok, besides the obvious fact that my stats need to match up fairly close with the admission requirements for each school, what are some of the main things to consider for which med schools to apply to. Also besides the location because that doesn't matter to me. This question seems not so great but if anyone feels like they can input just do it! thanks!

Traditional vs. Case Base Learing, Grading system, Financial aid offered, residency match-lists, research based, opportunities for other dual degrees, etc

Also, a good rule of thumb is to apply to schools you'd actually consider going to. Obvious, yes. But lots of folks forget about this.

school mission. some schools emphasize meeting the needs of underserved communities, while others emphasize pure research, etc.

I think that grading scale is huge. From what I have heard it can either foster cooperation or intense competition. Personally I want to go to a school that is Pass/Fail in the first two years, but I suppose if you are someone incredibly motivated by grades, and know that they will help you to succeed, look for Honers/High Pass/Pass/Fail schools.
