Has anybody used this http://www.studentdoc.com/medfind.html to help decide where to apply? I don't entirely understand how they decide if you're a competitive applicant. Is it accurate?

If it says I'm competitive at, say, Duke and Harvard, should I go ahead and apply to Duke and Harvard even though I have a 3.49 GPA (35 MCAT)? A lot of those top-tier schools look absolutely fantastic, but is it worth my time and effort to apply?

use this site only as a cursory tool... it might be accurate with average MCAT/GPA's but it doesn't take any LOR,EC's into consideration and its instate/outstate preference is a little off.

This thing seems to tell me im competitive at almost any school.
I have a 34Q and a 3.67 or so. very many many Extracurricular activities and good letters. Could I really apply at places like Columbia, Harvard, Emory etc? or is thing bogus?

You can! Well, a 34 and a 3.67 tells adcoms that you are competitive as far as academics and standardized tests go. The rest depends on the rest of your application.

Remember, the averages posted by schools are just that. AVERAGES. You don't have to meet the average to get in.
