Med School Pre-reqs Question

If a med school does not require a certain pre-req like, say, calculus, do they still secretly expect to see an applicant complete a year of calculus? (An example of a med school like this is UCSF). Would taking only one quarter of stats and no calculus hurt an applicant, even though the school doesn't require it as a pre-req?

Schools like UCSF have a lot more things to judge applicants on than just the presence or absence of a math class.

If you don't complete the minimum pre-reqs, yes, you are likely to have problems. Short of that, schools will generally look at the overall "rigor" of your curriculum and use that to inform their judgment of your academic performance. Beyond that, I don't think anyone cares what you did or didn't take.
