Several questions:

-Could someone link me to the point system that Med schools use (specifically Canadian ones or more specifically UBC Med)?

-How important, if at all, would being in an honour roll help with your application? My program requires me to take at least 27 credits to be in the honour roll, but I only have 25. I would prefer to not take the extra two credits because my course load is already pretty hectic.

-Regarding your GPA and the point system, do they look at all the courses (including electives) that you've taken or just the pre-requisites?

Thanks in advance

Each Canadian school pretty much has a unique way of calculating your weighted GPA. Im not too familiar with UBC but you can check the Canadian premed forums here. (Are you an international applicant tho? cuz i dont think UBC accepts internationals)

this might be what your looking for...

Toronto: drops lowest 3.0 credits.

Ottawa: (1st year + 2nd year*2 + 3rd year*3)/6

Western: most recent year + next best year

- getting an honors is not that important as far as i know. its your marks that matter.

hope this helps...
