Does anyone happen to know by chance which schools accept AP bio credit and which don't? actually, my problem is more like this, i got a 4 on the AP exam, and so i should have gotten credit for bio 1 and 2. i took bio 1 though because i wasn't told that i was getting the AP credit until later. so i didn't take bio 2 in school, i have the ap credit for that. but i've taken genetics and cell bio, just without a lab.

i've emailed a few of the schools that i wasn't sure accept or not, and the ones that didn't send me back a notice saying that all the answers can be found on the website sent me an email telling me to speak to an advisor. it was my advisor who told me to email or call the schools in the first place.

registration for the spring semester has already started, and if i needed to, i could take a genetics lab, but i'd rather not if i didn't have to, especially since the professor is horrible and prefers if people who are not taking hte class concurrently not be in her lab.

I'm curious about this as well. Did you take the lab for bio 1? I'm taking cell bio and genetics as my bio classes, but I would rather not do the labs if I didn't have to. I'm also meeting with an advisor this week, so I'll post again if I get any solid info.

generally speaking ap credit doesn't work well for med school prereqs.

i have an aquaintance that went through most of the premed process assuming his ap physics would be accepted at our state school. turns out it wasn't and he got to spend his final semester of undergrand and the summer before med school taking physics I and II

yea, i took the lab for bio 1, because i didn't know i was getting the credit. if you get any info, let me know. because i feel like i'm in a circle now, ya know? it's like a little kid going to mom, who says ask dad, and than dad says ask mom. why can't the damn schools answer questions about their own requirements??????

although stonybrook was nice about it, the lady didn't know the answer to my question right away, so she went to the dean and is going to ask him, supposedly she'll call me back, when i don't know.

i passed out of my school's general bio classes through AP credit.
but then i took upper level courses (cell bio, genetics, bio lab techniques etc). as long as you take upper level ones, it fulfills the 1 year of bio or whatever that you need.

also make sure tha tyou take all the pre-med prereqs for your college.

hope that helps. g'luck!
