how important is it to go to a school with a simulation center? at my interviews, schools with one have been touting it but i'm not certain how much medical students actually utilize it. thanks!
Not that important but they are nice. They are most useful for residents who can practice things that could actually cause harm in the real world.
As a medical student you will (likely) never be put in a position to truly harm somebody doing something that could be simulated in a sim center. Generations of med students did fine without them.
Literally all of them do (or at least I haven't heard of any that don't). They get touted and shown in interviews because they are usually new or at least recently renovated areas of the schools with some fancy technology (a robot) that makes interviewee's oooh and aaaah during the tour
