Hello folks,

I am an M2 with interest in EM. As such, I would like to get involved in a research project. I spoke with a faculty member at my shop to gain guidance. She was delightful, but she suggested I look for a few options for potential research projects.

My research interest is in the interface of public health research and EM. With that in mind, do you (ya'll with so much more experience) have any suggestions for topics that would be interesting to research in the ED? Or do you know of any good resources for me to look read in order to help guide my search?

Thanks

I will repeat some advice given to me that I found particularly useful. It was to peruse Annals of Emergency Medicine and Academic Emergency Medicine. Specifically the issues published around their respective conferences (Oct for Annals) and (May for AEM), as they publish all the accepted abstracts for their scientific conference. The abstracts are usually organized or indexed by research topic, so you can read all of the abstracts regarding public health, health policy, or whatever topic you think most closely matches your interests. This will give you a better idea of some of the current questions being asked in this space that may help you hone in on some potential questions to explore further. Hope that helps.

This is very helpful! Thanks so much
