I'm looking at different Medical volunteering trips abroad. Can anyone recommend a good company for the trip? Who would you recommend?

Volunteer at home. Voluntourism is how this is viewed.

What fortuitous timing! We have a medical mission trip to the Royal Qatar Orphanage coming up on April 6-7! This trip is guaranteed to pad your resume and max out your IG likes and snapchat views.

I can't tell if this is trolling or if this is genuinely how premeds are convinced to go on these voluntourism trips.

Please save your money and volunteer in your local community

I think this is a wonderful idea, what's the going rate on this excursion? Sounds like a blast!

We know our clientele are busy yet want to positively contribute to humanity. We help by minimize wasted time so that our clientele can maximize their time and impact in helping
  • Separate/Private Entrance at the airport with individualized and dignified security checks
  • Fly direct in our Learjet 75. This saves time wasted at connecting hubs, or waiting at the gate. Our Learjet is quiet and comfortable, so our clientele can sleep soundly and be fully engaged at their destination without jet lag
  • Meet world leading experts as they battle nutritional deficiencies, infections, psychological neglect - hear from their tales, and get a highly recommended personalized (and edited for grammatical errors and spelling) LORs extolling your contribution to their efforts
  • We provide a social media organizer to help maximize your views on IG, TikTok, and Snaps
  • Complementary food/beverages so you do not have to worry about the safety of the local food supply and water
  • Complementary front-of-the-line privileges upon return to the US - we will escort you to the front of the line of Customs and Passport Control upon arrival. Once you clear customs, our personnel will take your bags and ensure they arrive safely and quickly to a destination of your choice
  • 1 on 1 meeting with our social media organizer to review the experience and discuss how best to relay the meaning impact this medical mission had on you

I was all set to pack my bags until I saw that you only provide a LearJet 75. I require a LearJet 85 at a minimum, Dawg.

If you were legit, you would know that the LearJet 85 was cancelled in 2015 due to lack of interest among Bombardier customers.

However our LearJet 75 is not our only plane. We also have the GulfStream G150 that we use when we have simultaneous missions. Usually the Gulfstream is used to visit our clienteles to ensure they are receiving exceptional services from Side Door Admissions

We have had some clientele who do not feel comfortable sharing seats in our jets ... we can arrange for an individualized experience upon request

You had me at "individualized experience". As I am sure you can understand, I require my volunteer experiences to be about me. And now that you mention the more luxurious Gulf Stream Jet, I've taken my Louis Vuitton steamer trunk and matching luggage set back out of the closet. To whom do I make out my obscenely large check?

I am sorry Mr Rachapkis ... you sound like new money and are not the type of clientele we are interesting in

Good Day Sir

I would recommend taking a trip across town to find volunteer work. I am quite sure there are multiple opportunities to help in your own community.

All April Fools joking aside, don't volunteer on some weird medical mission trip. These are generally viewed poorly by admission folks. The 'voluntourism' is a shockingly apt definition of what committees see. I must admit, the huge number of my friends who played this game and uploaded all manner of photos to instagram and FB showing them as a smiling hero while emaciated native children die in the background, was alarming.

If you REALLY want to go abroad and help, become certified in something (Paramedic, nursing, Communications, Heavy rescue, uSAR, etc) and volunteer with one of the national teams. Then, at the next global disaster, you can go out.

We can provide paper documentations for all necessary documentations, as necessary or desired, without the need or expenses of training/experience/testing. These include, but not limited to, Red Cross First Aid, AHA BLS and ACLS, PALS, ATLS, EMT-P, etc

Visit our site and contact our membership support staff to determine the appropriate packages that would be appropriate for you

If you want a legit medical missions trip that will not be viewed as Voluntourism then join peace corps/doctors without borders or join the Army/Navy/Air Force in a medical specialty.

Beyond that, just volunteer in your own community.

I would like a PhD in pet psychology and a birth certificate which denotes me as the Lindbergh baby.

A Gap Year can accomplish the same goals. This video includes some great scripting useful for interviews:
