I didn't know where to put this so I put this here, considering I was formerly a pre-MD/DO. Bothers you and makes you annoyed? Good, because then I know I'm getting some attention. This will probably be my last question before I quit student docs.
So here's the thing, as inappropriate as this thread being here, I'm pretty much giving up on trying out for medical school, because I failed to fulfill all the requirements during my undergrad and because I'm done being lied to by people. Yes, I know you can apply as a non-traditional student, but quite frankly, I'm done with having to torture myself with an additional 12 years; it's not worth my time or my life and it's not worth another 12 years of drama and false promises, let alone taking on the barbarous new MCAT or reliving the worst of my undergrad years. This goes the same for all other medical professions: nursing, PA, etc. However, I initially considered "medical physics" as a career option as a backup, but I don't know if this career is somewhat relevant to a physician (I only brought it up because I'm an astrophysics major and it appears to be somewhat near my specialty). Is it the same thing? If not, then what is it?
If this doesn't work out, I'm probably just going to my last resort option: heading to law school like I had in mind.
READ THESE LINES: THIS THREAD IS FOR THIS QUESTION ONLY. DON'T LECTURE ME ABOUT MY CAREER CHOICES. If you want to criticize me for being a failure pre-med, how unfaithful I am to myself and how me quitting is an embarrassment to the medical community, then go right ahead. OTHERWISE, DON'T LECTURE ME ABOUT HOW BAD BEING A LAWYER IS OR HOW BAD BEING A WHATEVER IS BECAUSE HONESTLY? [quoting Red] "I DON'T GIVE A S**T". I MADE UP MY MIND, PERIOD. IF ANYONE IS GOING TO CRITICIZE ME FOR CHOOSING A "BAD" FUTURE, IT'LL BE MY PARENTS' JOB. LEAVE MY PLANS OUT OF THIS. IF THIS PISSES YOU OFF, THEN THE BACK BUTTON IS ON YOUR BROWSER FOR YOUR CONVENIENT USE.
