For those of you who took a course in immunology during your undergraduate studies, how did the level of depth it presented compare to that covered in medical school?

Honestly we covered about 90% of what undergrad immuno covered over an entire semester in 3 weeks of medical school. Only thing we really didn't touch much was the different type of TLRs but they were on the slides as a afterthought.

Took immuno at UCSD for undergrad and there was definitely an increase depth in terms of genetics, experimental design, etc etc. Med school anatomy focused on the basic science that was relevant to clinical application (not surprisingly).

Traditional curriculum. Medical school covered most of the immuno in undergrad, but left out some stuff here and there or wasn't emphasized as much. More clinically orientated obviously. The big difference is we covered all of it in 2 to 2.5 weeks.

Undergrad immunology covered >95% of med school immunology. Differences were 4 months in undergrad v. 2 weeks in med school, MHC genetics and processing were covered in exceedingly more excruciating detail than what is necessary for Step 1 (or anyone going into infectious disease, allergy and immunology, etc.) in med school, and my med school lecturers loved to include a ton of extraneous info related to their personal research.

Undergrad immunology was definitely more deep and had more emphasis on conceptual big-picture understanding. Med school immuno not so much.
