not too sure, i dont think so at UW though. the only prereqs i needed were bio I, chem I, 1 semester organic, and some other easy classes. it's not a tough major at all and you would have no problem finding a job with it right out of graduation. however I found some negatives that turned me away from it :
1. Community colleges offer the same education in 2 years, you would have the same job as the CC grad.
2. Pay isn't good for going to school for the skill. 16-24 dollars max is what i've seen.
3. Repetitive work environment (collect samples, analyze samples, give to doctor results)
4. Ultimately isn't what i wanted to do at all, rather be a dentist, PA, or strength and conditioning coach.
bottom line is it's up to you. do whatever you feel like. i like the idea that you can find a job in the health field right out of graduation if you decide to take a break from the dental dream. you will have a job. but then why spend 4 years and all that money at a U when you could get the same qualifications at CC for much less of a price? i guess because you will have a BS degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Lab Sciences or whatever they call it at your school.
i'll tell you what i would do though if i could go back in time and start undergrad all over. I'd be a business major and just complete the bare dental pre-reqs when I could at the University being attended or at a CC (whichever is more convenient). business is easy and versatile enough where if you found dental wasn't for you, you could do almost anything (get a job, get an MBA, whatever). that's just me though. Good luck with everything!
