Hello all! I saw that there was no MedPath-specific thread for the 2026 entry year at the Ohio State University School of Medicine. Please feel free to share any useful information, and I hope this little community is helpful for everyone through this long process.

Current student. I’ll do my best to answer what I can for those who are prepping for the MEDPATH interview. Good luck to all!

Hi! For the interview day, it says to prepare to spend 4 hours with in total with them. How long did your actual interviews with the faculty member and the med student last? Also .. I saw a post from many moons ago that had a comment saying that the GPA/MCAT req to matriculate is on a sliding scale.. meaning that the higher your gpa, the lower the MCAT req is to matriculate. Is that true? Has that changed?

Hello! Have interview invites already been sent out?

The MCAT requirement is the same for all MEDPATH students during the program year. It is "Obtain a total MCAT score ≥ the 51st percentile on the May administration" of the Spring semester you are in the program (right before med school enrollment). So for current applicants, your MCAT retake in May 2027.

Now, I'm not sure what the requirements are to be selected to interview for MEDPATH. Maybe that's a 'sliding scale' but I really don't know that part.

I believe the interviews were scheduled for an hour? But I don't think mine lasted more than 40 minutes each, maybe?

wow, already? Really hoping theres another batch of invites. Good luck!
They sometimes have an interview waitlist in case folks ultimately pull out of the interview. So you never know!

Congratulations to everyone who received an interview! May I please ask when your guys’ portals last updated (it’s on the Vitals home page under the “contact us”)?

Mine also says that but I haven’t gotten any updates. Has anyone asked if all of the interview invites have gone out? @meeel5 do you know any information by any chance?
I believe all interviews have been sent out/confirmed. But don't lose hope! Someone I know was pulled off the interview list a day before interviews a few years ago. Anyone on the list could still be accepted to other schools and pull out of MEDPATH interviewing between now and when the interviews are.

How would you describe the way the interviews were formatted? Were they mostly conversational or was it like a question & answer format? Did they ask a lot of the same questions that were in the application?

It was 2 interviews with a student and a prof (maybe a doctor for you). I would say one lasted 35 min with 10 more min for my questions and in the other one it was 30 min with my questions. Essentially they have a list of questions that they have to ask but I think it was def conversational, they ask you the normal every med school interview type questions and they responded to it, like oh they would say oh remember when i did that bla bla bla too and if you don't answer their whole question, like if you forget to give an example when they asked they will say oh can you give an example of that time. I say make sure you read your apps that you submitted, your primary, secondary even the medpath one cause I was asked about some things I mentioned there only. I think it might seem intimidating bc of the nerves but you made it this far so you should def have the mindset that you deserve to be here. Its ok to take moment to answer things rather than just rambling too. Lots of people told me that and I think it is def a wonderful advice.
