Has anyone used the MedStudy's Video Board Review for board prep? They seem like they'd be great resources, but are so expensive.. Also, has anyone tried getting the core books during intern year and marking them up throughout residency rather than waiting until third year?

I plan on getting the core curriculum soon and using it to study second and third year ... I have heard good things about it from colleagues. I don't know of anyone who has used the videos however. Pretty pricey.

Medstudy is great and was very useful during your residency. As an attending now, I still use it for reference purposes from time to time because it's so easy to maneuver through and very practical. During residency, I had the core books, the flash cards and went to the live board review class. A friend of mine did the video. From what I understand, the videos are the taped version of the live class. Bottom line, I strongly recommend it and well worth the investment. When I have to prep for re-cert, I will be utilizing their services again.
