Hey Guys,

I am meeting with the Dean of Admissions tomorrow morning. What should I wear (im a girl)? What advice can she give me? Does she have a real impact on my acceptance?

Just kinda nervous

Any advice would be appreciated.

Is this an interview? If so prepare and dress well.. Ultimately you want to sell yourself and come across as mature, thoughtful and passionate about medicine.

No not an interview. I email her a couple of days ago asking for an appointment. I wanted her to look at my resume/transcript and "see where I stand."
Would the dean of admission give this type of info?

I am kinda unclear of her role in the medical school.

Dress for success. Business professional. Skirt/pants debate I will not partake in, since I'm a guy. Show enthusiasm. Don't sneeze.

First, treat it like an interview.

She has a big impact.

Any contact and especially in person is game time. It helps them form an opinion of you.

Better be on your game!! 😱
Enough said.

Try the Women's Interview Clothing thread. Really helpful! http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=548372

Note that some of what's discussed in this thread won't apply to you because you aren't actually interviewing (so you won't be doing the other things that are a part of the interview, like touring) but the clothes ideas should help.

Otherwise, I second what's been previously stated. Treat this seriously but don't get TOO nervous, it's not the interview!

if you're not already there, bring a list of questions, a copy of your resume/CV, a copy of your transcript, and if you have one, your personal statement. Treat it like an interview.

Wait, I'm confused. Are you meeting the dean at a school to which you've already applied but not yet gotten an interview?

Also, the Dean is an important person, but don't let's imagine that it will likely influence any admissions decisions that may or may not have been made. Chances are, she'll do exactly what she agreed to: Look over your resume/transcript to "see where [you] stand".
