Hello everyone! I just wanted to start a thread for those dental or medical students that received an email invitation for the MHS program. I received mine yesterday and it states they will contact me in mid march if I'm offered an interview. Anyone else looking forward to mid march? Lol
 
Do they send invites to people who still haven't received an interview for the dental and med school yet or to people that have been rejected? Or both?

I think it may be just for the students that have been rejected.
 
Hi, I've applied to Meharry (med) and have been complete since the first week of October. Hoping to here something soon. Hopefully I am considered for this program, does anyone know the stats to be considered? And do they only send this to rejected pre or post interview candidates.
 
From everyone that I've spoken with, they only offer it to students that have been rejected. My application was complete in October as well but then changed to under review in January. Then, I got the rejection email and Masters program offer last week.
 
Ho guys, the people that were offered an invite. Do you mind sharing your stats? I haven't been rejected or extended an interview just trying to gauge my chances. Thanks

Overall gpa= 3.1 Science 3.0 and DAT=17's I worked full time during undergrad while raising five children.

Over gpa- 3.51 , science gpa 3.28, AA 16 TS 17 PAT 17

Thanks lady but I still wasn't good enough to get an interview anywhere. I'm hoping that I can get into the masters program to "show" dental schools that I can handle the curriculum. I think the waiting part is the most difficult part of the process. VCU sent an email stating they are still reviewing my application but its February. I would think they have a full class already. Has anyone heard about the D.5 program?

You're welcome! I'm sure you'll get in! But yea waiting sucks. I haven't heard anything from Meharry since August. I'm still waiting on 2 other schools too. I've only heard back from Tufts. I have an interview for deferred admissions!

Over 300 shadowing hours

Are you still waiting to hear back from Meharry or did they contact you about the MHS program?

That's a good amount of shadowing hours considering you weren't working. Go head girl! What did you use to study for your DAT?

I mostly used Chad's videos (coursesaver.com), DAT destroyer, and DAT bootcamp.
 
Hi guys yea i received the same invite. My stats are a 3.2gpa and 16TS . I got a masters in bio, i was Bio Lab TA (Anatomy and intro) and i work in the pharmacy with 200 shadowing hours. I really i can get an interview bc i just received my last 2 rejections from all 7 schools.

They contacted me back for the MHS program but I still heard back from Tufts Univeristy

Did you hear back from any other school? The only schools I'm waiting on now are Meharry and Howard.

Thats great that you have a masters already. Is this your first time applying to dental school?
 
What kind of questions did they ask you during your interview and what do you think you could have done differently, if anything?

Hi! When did you submitt your supplemental application to meharry? Meharry received my complete application on November 4th, 2016 but I haven't heard anything back yet.
 
I finally heard back from Meharry!!! I'm sure they'll say something about the MHS program at the interview. I'll post something if they do.

It's ok. It's a learning experience and at least you can say you tried. My DAT isn't that great either but I still have it a shot, although I got rejected from all the schools I applied to. Lol Take the upcoming months and study for your DAT then reapply with a vengeance!

oh wow me too!!! thanks for the advice and the confidence boost!! i want you to own this DAT as well! you got this the next time will be interview galore and acceptance everywhere!!!

Hey! Nope, I haven't heard anything yet but from looking at the posts from last year, they started sending out invites around the 22nd. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow though. Are you applying to any other programs?

Welp there goes my anxiety. yea im going to call today as well. Programs such as MHS? no im not im actually unaware of any other similar programs but would love more info on other programs if there are more!!

I tried calling but it just rings and then hangs up. They're probably tired of everyone calling with the same questions we have. Lol There are several MHS programs. I'm applying to one at Hampton U but it's a two year program.

haha that sounds about right. I looked some up as well and im thinking about George Mason and its 9 months but i didnt see Hampton i will have to look into that!!
