memorization techniques

Good Evening all its cold here and i will be brief. Have any of you read kevin trudeau's book "Mega memory"? I have found that it has enabled me to memorize endless facts without actually understanding it. His book seems to be centered on linking things together mentally.
If anyone has read this book please post their evaluation of it and any other techniques that have worked.

I'm not sure if memorizing facts without understanding it is really good.
I mean - if you just learn stuff by heart, you'll forget it soon and you'll have to relearn it all over again.
And it's soimportant that you understand things later on (like anatomy for physiology ect).
J haven't read the book just yet (no time - anatom.), so maybe I'm wrong, but I can remember things better&faster if I understand it all.
