Click to expand... There's no need to memorize the ml values if you understand the trend: s-orbitals: 0 (1 subshell) p-orbitals: -1, 0, 1 (3 subshells) d-orbitals: -2,-1,0,1,2 (5 subshells). It's a totally reasonable question to ask and worth understanding imo. Upvote 0 Downvote
