For those of you who have taken the DAT, do we need to memorize structures of carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins? I'm talking about the ones in the Kaplan Blue Book.

I memorized the basic carbohydrates for my test but they were not needed...I had no questions about lipids, carbs, or amino acids...

I would know that Carbohydrates have a H:O ratio of 2:1 and Fats are much higher...

I don't think you need it. I did not see it on my test. If you want you can study the structure of carbohydrates.

the only structure i memorized was glucose just so i could apply it to other questions of sugar chem.. (like converting between ring/fischer, etc.)

no you dont have to memproze them but know how to recognize them also know the basics of maltose and glucose and sucrose. LIke what they are made of.
