Mental illness & Breast Cancer

How do you guys approach your patients with mental illness? What considerations go into recommendations for endocrine therapy vs chemotherapy vs surgical referrals? Are they affected by mental illness? In general, are there topics you wish you knew more about with regards to psych? I'm especially interested in responses from those of you who work with breast cancer patients.

anxiety is a mental illness.. but that's different from full blown schizophrenia

Pretty much every breast cancer patient I have can be easily placed somewhere on the Axis II spectrum (and yes, I know that Axis II was deleted in DSM-V).

It's almost like a personality disorder is a breast cancer risk factor.
