Hey everyone,

I was wondering if I could get some input on my letter of intent to my state school. I have been placed on the wait-list (along with a few other schools) and I am currently working on a strong letter to re-affirm my desire to attend. I have also recently began studying to retake the DAT in the hope of being removed from the wait-list, however, I have not committed to when or if I would definitely be taking it (If I do retake, it would be in early February). I was wondering if I should mention that I am studying to retake it? would it look good that I am willing to put forth the effort to get higher scores to get off the wait-list? or would it only hurt my chances because they would not reconsider my application until they received the new scores?

I have only taken the DAT once as a sophomore in undegrad and I am a second time applicant after completing an all science masters. These are my scores.
AA -20, TS-19, PAT, 20, Bio-18, GC-20, OC-21,QR-19, RC-21

If anyone has any useful advice I would greatly appreciate it.

I think your dat is pretty strong to retake...do so at your own peril.

I thought i was pretty good too but unfortunately not strong enough to get me an admission out of 4 interviews, from the 15 schools I applied to. I have a relatively low GPA (3.3 undegrade overall, 2.97 undegrad science, 3.41 graduate overall/science) and I dont think that my DAT stands out enough to get me an acceptance.
