Should I address my academic probation in my essay even though I already did in the 'institutional action' portion of my application? I don't want to waste characters, but at the same time I want to be sure that whoever looks at my application recognizes that that first semester wasn't me at all.

Background info:

In my first semester at my four year university I took 4 classes and received two 0.0s, one 1.5 and one 1.0 for a gpac of 0.69. The next semester I took four classes, got a 3.9 gpac, and maintained good grades throughout the rest of my undergraduate and post-bac years. I also retook those failed classes and received two 3.5s and two 4.0s in them.

Thank you!

Don't waste precious PS space on something that can more reasonably be addressed elsewhere.
