I have recently submitted my application workbook. My recruiter just set up an appointment for me to go to MEPS this week. What exactly goes on here? I read that I must complete a medical examination and take an oath then. Is there a separate process for people applying for HPSP and those enlisting in the military?

MEPS is just like taking a sports physical on steroids... You'll have to do height/weight checks, take bloodwork, check vision, check body conformation/movement, etc. It's about a 5 hour affair and you do it with everyone else who is joining the military from all branches.

My only advise is wear a comfortable pair of boxers to move in for body conformation checks (you get to do the infamous duck walk in them) and bring a book....because there is a lot of hurry up and wait. MEPS is pretty boring. Also make sure you have 2 pieces of government issued ID (drivers license and SS card)

Also, you do not swear in at MEPS. You will not sign a contract at MEPS either. Make sure you let them know you're taking a physical as part of an application for a student program...
