I was interviewed on the 19th of october. I travelled from orlando (UCF) area. I thought the school was realluy nice and the faculty/ students are really nice. I went to high school in S. FLA and you can really tell the difference in people's attitude. The facilities are nice and they take pride in their history. Great school!

I got an interview invited today for sept. 28th, but I had to reschedule because I had an exam. now it is for Oct. 8th at 1pm. I am traveling from Florida. It is going to suck because I have a biochem exam the very next day.

i have an 89 PCAT
3.11 cumilative GPA
2.75 science GPA (2.98 according to PharmCAS)
im in a sorority, dance group, and cultural group
i have over 100 hours of volunteering in a Pharmacy

THE KEY IS TO APPLY EARLY!

i turned it in Aug. 2 and my supplemental Aug. 16

apparently, my interview went well because i just got a call saying I was accepted!!!

I don't think so, because I believe the deadline would come before you would get your scores back.

I read on their website last night that
UGA website says the fall PCAT is preferred so that you can have a chance to retake in January if you need to...

I also emailed them.

how long does it take for mercer to make a decision? 2 weeks after the interview? It's funny how my interview is not until Friday, and I'm already worrying about that acceptance OR dreaded rejection letter.

they sent me an email Oct 31st saying that they got everything...

hahaha We have about another 2-3 weeks to go before we hear anything. A little bit longer than the Oct. PCAT. Mercer is one of my top school...

Don't worry about the interview! Everything is pretty relaxed. Be yourself and be prepared for those basic questions: why pharmacy? why mercer? why they should choose you? Good luck to everyone!

ok, thanks you.. i've been reading the feedback all afternoon. do u think i should know more about the current issue in the pharmacy industry. stuff regarding medicaid, children otc cold medicines recall, etc.... any suggestions?

During my interview I was not called upon to talk about any actual pharmacology questions. Just why pharmacy, why this school, who influenced you? But not questions that require you to know about practical pharmacy use. But it would be good to highlight your knowledge of these examples if you can.

For anyone who got accepted into Mercer for Fall 2008:


What were your stats and extracurriculars and everything...did u have a bachelors degree? I have had my interview and am waiting for the final decision that is supposed to be made in 2-3 weeks!!! AHHH and the wait is killing me!!!

Here, I will start...tell me my chances...

I am a second year pre-pharm student

3.73 overall GPA
3.75 science GPA

the only thing bringing down my GPA are two B's I made ( one in calculus I and one in Gen chem) at a really hard school I was at my first semester of college...plus I got sick towards the end of the semester with grullllling sinus infection...all the rest are A's

Okay, 82 composite pcat...volunteer in hospital inpatient pharmacy....work as retail pharm tech since June 2006...lot of extracurriculars here and there...valedictorian of my high school...graduated with International Baccalaureate diploma

have recs from pharmacist, lady I shallowed at hospital and biology teacher and supplemental rec from organic teacher...

where do I stand?

Thank you all...input will be appreciated...I am dying not conversating about this...and my non pharmacy friends are sick of hearing me talk about it...so I thought I would share it with ppl who might care....lol...

Bets me why they did not roll out the red carpet for u and escort u right in!!! LOl...not to pick at u or anything...but how were your extracurriculars, did u work, volunteer, etc....

But I am sure u are like towards the top of the waiting list, and many ppl drop Mercer once they get accepted to a cheaper school AKA UGA...

LOL...Mercer ends up accepting a total of around 230 ppl...which means that around 80 of the ppl that get accepted get replaced by ppl from the waiting list because these 80 or so ppl decided not to attend....

I know...I was shocked to find out it was so much...

there still is hope then!!! LOL 😀

One of my friends that interviewed after me said the next admissions meeting would be dec.7. After my interview it was that monday thatfthey made their decisions. SO i think that those are the only dates they got together for the fall semester.

yeah, that's what I thought...thanx...and at the interview...we were told an exact date...(Dec 7th)...which is a Friday...does that mean they start sending out notifications that day or are the decisions are made that Friday and then calls and what not...are started the following week...Dec 10-14???

I got a call from mary ellen telling me I got accepted about 2 days after the admissions date. It was a monday that they got together and I heard on Wed./Thurs. I can't remember that well. I also recieved a letter a few days later as well.

Ohh okay thanx...so I guess they'll meet Friday and start making calls in the mid of the following week. Now all I have to do is invent a time machine and fast forward till that time and I am spared 2-3 weeks of worrying coupled with the stress of final tests/projects and FINALS...lol...ahhh yeah...did I mention waiting sux...

when i was there for my interview there was a woman who introduced herself as the person who made all the calls to us early on a saturday morning.. so i think thats the day you should look out for. =)

the 11/30 interview is the last one before the adcom meets on 12/7. as for how many interview groups they have had so far, I think around 4-5. since the adcom last met at the end of october, I would guess that there has been an interview once a week since then. of course, I'm not even sure if they have both morning and afternoon interviews on one day, because all the people that I know have interviews in the afternoon while I have an interview in the morning with 10 other applicants. Let's just hope that everyone in this thread will get in, so we can end the anxiety already!

So far as I know, they do not do morning and afternoon interviews on the same day.
