I've learned in more than 3 classes (including higher level biochemistry) that methionine is a non-polar amino acid. However, in the 2007-2008 kaplan book it lists methionine under polar amino acids. Which is the correct answer for the official DAT examination? Is the DAT based on the Kaplan book?

(I'm pretty sure it is non-polar based on its structure. I am just wondering if I should believe the kaplan book for the DAT exam)

Also do we need to know all the different R groups of amino acids for the DAT? (anyone seen this on the dat?)

I did not know my personal information was under public view and I'd much rather keep it private. And yes you do need to know the R groups.
