Can anyone who has interviewed at Miami or who knows the area recommend a hotel?

I dunno what you price range is, but the mandarin oriental and four seasons are both very close, and very good.

i know there's a hilton by the airport and an extremely close Days Inn (walking distance) to the medical school.

Thanks. Is the Days Inn decent? Sometimes they can be pretty crappy.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Dowtown-Port of Miami. It's like a $6 or 7 cab ride away from the hospital/campus (5-10 minutes during rush hour). Nice hotel....$80-$90 a night. The big plus, particularly if you get in early, is that the "Bayside Marina" is across the street. Place has a bunch of shops, restaurants, bars, live music to you can unwind a bit very close to your hotel.

Good luck

Thanks, I'll check those out.

I dunno, I've never stayed there, but it looks mad shady. It shouldbe alright though.

Mad shady doesn't sound very good. Maybe I'll check out the others.

do any of you know if miami has a student hosting program?

They do have a student hosting program. You get info about it with your interview invite packet of info.
