Haha come on guys.. give him his props.. he was a BEAST back in the day, not so much later on in his life, but he was an overall superstar none the less. I still remember religiously practicing the moonwalk with socks in my younger days haha good times.

RIP Michael Jackson

He was a brother. He was a father. A son. An uncle. And, as an artist (and fan) myself, I acclaim his unparalleled TALENT. Rest In Peace, MJ. Sad.

As my friend wrote, "Inspired by the artist, saddened by the man, and being mindful to differentiate the two. MJ was a product of being denied a childhood, and a celebrity-obsessed, cannibalistic society that creates false idols then takes sadistic pleasure in watching them fall from grace. Fame took this man's life a long time ago, may he finally rest in peace." E.A.

the media often made fun of his skin whitening and sun avoidance with masks

but really the guy had vitiligo dx in the 80s. i know one person who had this...... without skin bleaching their face would look like a leopard. aside from the psychological damage it does to want to withdraw and increased skin cancer.

given all the factors in his life a "normal" life was not his destiny.

saw a report from the UK tabloid "The Sun" which was implicating IM demerol as the culprit in his arrest...sounds like pure speculation, but you never know

MJ was part of the great american dream that brought foreigners like myself to the US of A. I am proud to be in this great country that has produced legends of every field possible. like one of the bloggers wrote we should at this moment pray with the family that the find peace, love and pride in having him as a father, son, uncle and sibling. this icon is going to be missed both here at home and abroad. RIP and God bless.

Tragic for his children and family.

But also strangely enough completes the standard celebrity trifecta this week: McMahon, Fawcett, Jackson.

His death overshadows those of the other two, but that may actually be a bit of a blessing for their families, so that the media leaves them alone to grieve. As for MJ's family, they will have no such relief.

I am straining my brain and cannot come up with a more famous performer. He is a legend worldwide. Charlie Chaplin, Elvis...but they were limited by the technology of their times.

Outside of the USA he was nearly godlike, his legal troubles rarely mentioned. I remember seeing a 20' statue of him in the Zurich main train station. From what I heard, those statues were placed all over the world.

I still have a nagging doubt about the veracity of his death. What if it is a publicity stunt aimed at his come-back attempt? Or what if he is faking his death like Elvis (according to conspiracy theorists), to run away from the horrors of his fame?

We all die. The only certitude in life. I think he had a sad life. I am sorry for him. Isn't strange that now everybody (media) is sorry and a while ago he was a child molester? BTW I don't believe that...
It is sad to live your life through the eyes of others. It is another lesson. I wish the best for his children and family.

Elvis may not have been at the height of his fame when he died, but he was relevant. MJ hasn't been relevant for over a decade. If he was doing this to escape his fame, he's about 20 years too late. Maybe to escape his financial situation.

Back in the day I rocked the vinyl version. Amazing album.

It was an absolute madhouse here yesterday.

Our own tribute: music in our OR was all MJ, all the time.

Thriller (on cassette tape!) was the first bit of music I ever owned. He may or may not have been a sex-changing child-molesting wackjob, but damn, that boy was talented.

Anybody asked him/herself a question I am, or it's just me?

If it was so freaking obvious for everybody around MJ is prone for opiates overdosing, why wasn't there good old naloxone available? Personal doctor was there, but the needed drug was not?

RIP, MJ.

Read that his music on Amazon sold like 700x the norm yesterday, similar on iTunes.

Anyone remember the "moonwalker" video game for the original sega genesis.. that game was bad ass 👍

What did the lady at the beach say to Michael Jackson?

Excuse me sir, but you're in my son (sun)!

So, the same website that broke the story that Michael Jackson was taken to UCLA due to cardiac arrest, and the same website that said he was dead when it took CNN and MSNBC another 45 minutes to report his death....is now reporting that the Jackson family is blaming Jackson's personal live-in doctor for overdosing him with demerol moments before Jackson's arrest. Clearly, TMZ is speaking directly to someone in the family/entourage...

Only tox results will tell of course.

So, question...is demerol uniquely/confusingly labelled? Does it require a dilution or does it already come diluted? Is a single decimal point error easy to make with IM demerol injections? If someone can shed some light, that would be interesting.

Mind you, I'm not finding fault or placing blame, just curious about the possibility that just prior to Jackson's arrest, he was given a very large dose of demerol, and if so, would this be a drug that could cause such an immediate demise. Same site is also suggesting there was evidence Lidocaine was on the scene as well.

Thoughts?

Demerol has been reported in newspapers everywhere. Also the doc is not being traced? It would be nice if someone with more knowledge shed some light on the medicine.

Clearly TMZ has a wide network of people willing to sell information for cash. Any of this could have been obtained from a hospital employee. Clearly they are unscrupulous, and will happily post "news" without checking the facts or confirming details.

Yes. These agencies are unscrupulous. And they are willing to pay whatever it takes to break the story. It ain't CNN. however, that has nothing really to do with whether or not they are actually reporting truth, or checking their own facts. Surely TMZ doesn't wanna post that he's dead and find out he wasn't. So, I think the question are the means to their end. When I first started out in la, for example, as an assistant to a celeb, my first la job, I was regularly offered 10-20k to sell the photos I was picking up at the local shop. This was more during the national inquirer days (and when 35mm wad still popular). 1994 to be exact.

So, these agencies are crappy, and they'll do anything to post on their web first. But TMZ has been so spot on and quick, it's clear they have a way in to what the family is being told. So, the Demerol science questions stand. And yes, I agree, these celeb ****** suck. It's pervasive out there. Sadly I don't think overprescribing narcotics or any fun meds is any more overprescribed in LA. it's just news when Michael Jackson or Jerry Lewis get addicted. And not so much when middle America guy gets addicted. The only difference I can surmise is that some docs, like regular folk, are star f cukers. And want to do ANYTHING said star asks them to do. Just like all the hanger ons do. I've seen it. Another reason the business repulsed me. And why was I working for star dude? He had 2 shows on tv and it was a way for me to start my tv writing career. And it did.

Ps for those of you who are wondering if I ever took the cash, no. However
famous boss did finally sell some photos HIMSELF for 50k. Oh well.

Don't know if he was or wasn't, but he was an amazing artist who symbolized the American dream, of rising from the bottom to going to the top with enough effort, and it is for that that he deserves praise.

And all the children he was accused of "touching" were left there by their parents!
Why would a parent leave a child alone with a 50 year old stranger??
It's outrageous that none of these parents was prosecuted for selling their children.
We don't really know what happened but we know that he was an amazing artist and that the whole world is mourning him today.
People are placing flowers in front of the US embassy in Moscow!
Can you guys remember the last time anyone put flowers in front of a U.S. embassy anywhere??

i agree with the last blogger. the case of the abuse for which we do not know the full details. i believe with his death the truth would prevail. the parents involved in the cases i would call them out for been pimps. they were ready to sell their souls for money. mj was a very rich man if he wanted kids, all he had to do was hop on a plane to asia and not spend more than 20 bucks for all kids of all sizes and ages. why would he risk been caught? the parents there in asia are pimps as well due to the state of poverty the families are experiencing so they do give out their kids willing and this has been reported on the news documentaries. i am understanding mj was very naive for his age which makes him the perfect victim of exploitation but we can never know. the 1993 case which i followed from my home country started because mj did not talk to spielberg about jody's father script.('93 victim), the father threaten his mother over custody if she did not play ball. that kid has since left the states i have a gut feeling he may be back now to tell the truth. we may never know but nothing is hidden under the sun. in the case of the catholic church the victims confronted their abusers why not jody? let him rest in peace and we ask God to pull his family through this tragedy.
