The other thing that's changed this year for MSU is they are no longer counting your Fall Semester grades toward your vet school admission. This is my 3rd time applying (the 1st time i applied i got an interview, back when they were doing interviews) - i have been told my grades and experience make me really, really close to getting in - and back in February the Director of Admissions suggested I enroll in a Master's Program, and said that my Fall grades would count toward my admission.
I enrolled in a Master's program, and this fall is my first semester in that program. Then I received the same email - that supplementals may come by 2nd week of Dec at the latest. I emailed an admissions advisor and she said that things had changed, and now Fall grades won't count toward admission.
Basically, there are a bunch of huge changes going on at MSU CVM. There is a new Dean of the vet school, and, as of this past summer, a new Director of Admissions as well. They are no longer doing interviews, so basically they will be churning out a bunch of 4.0 GPA vet students who don't have any people skills. Well, that's my opinion anyway. Oh, and also, due to the economy, MSU is talking about cutting its veterinary technology program, which is a huge shame. That's one of the things that really makes MSU CVM unique - having a vet tech program right there as well, so that vet students and vet tech students can work side-by-side. So yeah, big changes at MSU CVM.
So that's my story with the MSU CVM. Hopefully it will be of some help to you guys who are also applying (or re-applying) this year 🙂
