....so in first aid it says that B. recurrentis is associated with relapsing fever. Then there is African sleeping sickness caused by T. Brucei and for that it says that a characteristic of it is recurring fever. Is there a difference in relapsing fever vs recurring fever? If so what is the difference?

If anyone knows about different types of fevers and could explain it that would be really helpful. thanks!

For Step 1 this is probably the last thing they will ask.

Undulant fever (borrelia) as I understand it is a fever that appears and disappears several times in a day. The other "type" of fever occurs in stuff like malaria, where you'll have a fever one day and then be afebrile for x-number of days (depending on the plasmodium species).

I've seen fever pattern show up in Kaplan qbank and also in our micro class exam last year. It's not really a huge deal as long as you understand that multiple fevers in a day is different than fevers separated by a day or multiple days.
