Microbio. Lab required???

Hellllllllllo,

I am planning on taking MicroBiology for next quarter (since it is required to apply to UW dental school...)

I was only planning on taking the Microbio. lecture but someone has informed me today that a lot of other dental schools require Microbio. lecture AND Microbio. lab????

Is this true?

I don't want to take the Microbio. lab if it's not required since I am already behind.

Which Micro are you taking? 301 or 410? The lab for 301 really isnt bad at all. Although, i tend to prefer the hands on learning of lab. I didnt take the lab for 410. You learn a lot of techn's and are tested on your ability to interpret the results more than anything. Both lectures are difficult though.

Actully, i just looked at the course catalog so if you're taking it this spring i guess that means 301. I had Anderson over last summer, she's a pretty good lecturer. I needed the lab for one of two for the bio major so i guess this doesnt really answer your question 🙂

I don't think many schools even require microbio as a prereq.....
