I have searched this forum extensively to figure out which micro resources to use with my class work. I have come across Kaplan Micro, CMMRS, Picmonic, Lippincott's Microcards, and Sketchymicro.

Can someone please tell me which of these I should use with my class (to understand) and then for review (before step 1)?

I was thinking about getting CMMRS or Kaplan Micro and picmonic, but I am not sure if this will be overkill.

Don't use too many resources, stick with one and go with it. I haven't personally used any of your listed resources but sketchymicro is pretty popular around my class.

When it comes to CMMRS, picmonic, and sketchy, I would choose only one of the three since they have similar learning styles. If you're low on cash, I'd go with CMMRS, I think you can get it for $30. Microcards have also helped me and a lot of people I know. Good luck.

For freaking sure sketchy micro should be the first thing that you watch after you've covered basic bacteriology. Watch one of their demo videos on youtube. Solid gold.

Does sketchymicro cover everything I need to know for microbiology? I have heard it doesn't have viruses and/or parasites.

Viruses were just updated in, and they have either parasites or fungi as well now. It might not be everything, but it comprehensively covers first aid material.

CMMRS blows. FA has plenty of mnemonics for micro. From what I can tell many people are using sketchymicro or microcards. I'm using microcards and I really like it. Tried picmonic but I can't learn like that.

I really liked CMMRS, but I also like reading prose (probably due to my background in literature) and don't get as much out of flashcards. YMMV, though, and any one of those can be useful. A lot of people in my class like sketchy micro. FA is pretty good, as well.

what percentage of people solely used UW + FA and what percentage of people use a dedicated micro resource
