Does microbiology help a lot when it comes to the DAT? I can take Biochem and Microbiology this semester but I am considering dropping Microbio and taking it in the summer/next semester so I'll have more time for the DAT this semester.. (Already taking OChem2 + research)

Also, if I decide to take Microbiology next semester or in the summer, I can still apply to schools that require it right (applying this upcoming cycle)?

If you are taking Biochem, you will gain vast majority of the Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Biochemistry needed for the DAT. DAT tests you on General Biology knowledge, not the specifics of advanced classes.

Hope it helps,

Good luck.

I have benefited greatly from taking my upper level bios. I would have never dreamed to see so many evolution questions but I have seen quite a bit during my study. My evolution class was genetics based and has been very helpful.

Honestly though microbio has not really popped up. Its up to you but I probably wouldn't take it and just save that time for the DAT
