Relax. It's not so bad. The key for a student is to "know your patient", follow up on labs, and be around for procedures. It's just like medicine and pedi. Be organized on your note and assessments by doing it by systems and identifying problems.
On the first couple of days, introduce yourself to the nurses who are taking care of your patient and ask they need you to do anything or communicate anything to your resident. Then ask them to teach you what the hell all the toys are. Most important thing is to learn how to SHUT UP when you need to. Nobody likes a stupid student who talks to much and act like they know everything.
