Hi.
Does anyone know programs in the midwest/west that accept Chemistry for Health Majors, such as Intro to Chemistry?

Here is the course description:
This course introduces fundamental principles of chemistry including types of matter and physical states, physical and chemical transformations, chemical equations and stoichiometry, bonding, atomic and chemical structure, intermolecular forces, gas laws, solutions, colligative properties, acids and bases, nuclear chemistry, and includes a brief introduction of organic chemistry. It is primarily intended for general education and majors in allied health (nursing, dental hygiene, respiratory care), family and consumer science, physical education, physical therapy(*), psychology(*), natural resources(*)
*May require CHEM 400 (which is the general chem)

I would suggest contacting the schools that you are potentially interested in . You may need to send them a copy of the course description and/or syllabus. The level of the course may also matter: whether it is a 100 level course or a 200 level course. I would think that you at least have a chance.

One other thing that may matter is whether you have taken the course, or are planning to take the course this fall. I am assuming that you have taken the course already. If not, I would suggest that you see if this is actually the best course to take.

Agree with the above and I also wanted to add that if they do say they will accept it, make sure you have it in writing. An email chain that you save is fine (from their admissions person), but someone telling you "it's OK" on the phone is not enough.
