Yes, I was accepted and as you can see, I can't hardly wait to change my status to pharmacy student XD It has been a looooong wait!
Yeah i got in with a 3.1 and 92 pcat. Just do well on your pcat and keep adding to your stats.Hey everyone sorry i have been reading these like no other lately, I am going to be applying for the fall 2014 admission at the Downers Grove CCP and I can't help but to think to myself "what are my chances?" I am hoping to have a 3.2 or so by the time I apply and I will be retaking the PCAT in september and I really am studying a lot so i can get above the average score. I currently attend the University of Iowa and I am working on Pre-Reqs and somewhat towards a biochemistry degree (I did residency in the state of Iowa for cheaper tuition so i fell behind with classes) Anywho I am originally from St. Charles, IL and I would love to move back home again. I have been a Pharmacy Technician at Walmart Pharmacy for about 6 months now and I continue on staying with them. In terms of diversity do you think it makes a difference if I am part of "minority" I know some schools have different outlooks on that. Some extracurriculars- I am involved with dance marathon here on campus which provides year round support for pediatric cancer patients at the university hospital.
I guess overall I just want to know that if my GPA does fall a tad bit low but i do well on the PCAT do i still have a shot of getting in?
I feel hopeless! I am applying to Iowa's pharmacy program too since it's been my dream school for a while but just recently i really started to like the idea of midwestern downers grove.
Is it possible to be on the alternative list and then without any e-mail notification from the school, find out through the website that I just got accepted? (I hope I don't sound stupid.)
It seems unreal and I need clarification.
Did any of you interview 2/15? I don't see anything in my portal and i'm kinda really bummed. Does this school actually reject people, or do they ALL en up in the waiting list? During my interview, the lady said something about sending in any new information or at least a letter of intent, unfortunately, i dont have any new info just yet. Should I send a letter? What do you guys think?
Congrats everyone!!! It does seem so unreal with just the portal being changed and no other notification. Where is everyone coming from? I'm from Michigan!![]()
I'm coming from Michigan too; Wayne State University. I am beyond excited!! 😀
I'm stuck between Roosevelt and Midwestern too I guess I'll pay the deposit for both
What do you like about Roosevelt
Sent from my Nexus 4 using SDN Mobile
Did either of you interview on November 28th? I'm only asking because I remember 2 students in my interview group who were from Wayne State
Nope that wasn't me. I interviewed on 2/1. Are you from Michigan?!
I'd be most concerned with the latter...3 year program, cost, distance, smaller class sizes.
The only thing holding me back is the accreditation and it's not a well known school (networking, job obtainability might be a little difficult)
Only $100. Assuming you send a letter of withdrawal before 30 days of matriculation.I just got into UIC so I'll be giving up my spot. Hope that frees up a spot for somebody.
Does anyone know how much of the $1000 deposit is refundable??
YES 🙂
Many of my classmates work at their pharmacies. I work at Student Services, other classmates work at the Wellness Center. Working is possible.
For anyone looking at flights from the Southern California region, any round-trip ticket that is less than $300 is GOOD. My off-peak tickets are usually $275 or $280 🙂
Christmas it can go up to $500 🙁
Hey, I was on the wait list too ( interviewed back in november) just got an email on friday that I've been accepted! So maybe they didn't get around too contacting you! I have already put down a deposit for UOP in Cali. So I'm unsure of what to do? Any input UOP vs MWU??My portal changed and it says that I've been accepted. It has the option to agree or deny the admission into the program. It shows the matriculation agreement of $1000, but I didn't get an email from the school. Is this normal?
This might be a stupid question because I might be over looking it.. Where was the option for the laptop after you paid the deposit??

Hello everyone, I have a question about the format of the interview. I'm reading on the interview feedback page and some people are saying that they ask in the introduction 3-4 questions all at once like introduce yourself, where are you from, what major are you, why pharmacy, why mwu and one unique thing about yourself. Do they ask all these questions all at once like this or will each question be separate? If these questions are asked all at once, will it be ok if we take a long time addressing all these questions because that's alot to answer in one introduction!![]()
In my interview they said that you don't get to pick anymore, they're all gonna be macbooks.
Yes Midwestern totally accepts students with stats like yours 🙂 If I were reviewing your application, I would just think that you made some mistakes when you were younger so your undergraduate GPA suffered (that, or your university was killer). Although your GPA may not reflect it, it still looks like you learned the material from undergrad with your 90 pcat composite. From your grad gpa, it also looks like you've revamped your study habits and are on an upward trend. Plus, with your pharmacy experience, you seem like a great candidate!Hey guys..I'm interviewing the 28th and am surprised I even received one because of my grades. Does anyone know if Midwestern even accepts someone with stats like mine?
PharmCAS overall GPA: 2.51
Science GPA: 2.7
Graduate GPA: 3.8
PCAT: 90 composite
My undergraduate GPA is pretty poor and it took me a couple of years to get it back up..I have a bachelor of Science degree and am going to finish my MS degree this year. I have over 2 years of retail pharmacy experience as well as pharmacy volunteer experience and a lot of extracurriculars. Any input is appreciated!
