That's too much excitement to keep inside!

@knj27 Check the portal! I have a accepted student checklist! That means I'm in right?

I looked earlier and saw I had the accepted student checklist too!

And I don't think you would have an accepted student checklist if you hadn't been accepted lol. I looked at the portal and then came on here to reply to this thread but you beat me too it ha.

Now starts the waiting for 3 months to find out if I get in somewhere cheaper...joy :bang:

Haha I just feel like I have been waiting for this for so long that it's hard to believe I'm actually in somewhere.

I know...but since I'm waiting to find out about getting into NAU (less than half as expensive), I called my parents and told them about my acceptance and they were like, meh that's cool I guess, hope you don't end up going there. You would think I told them I found 20 bucks in my pocket not that I got into professional school lol :roflcopter:

I don't think you'll have a problem with getting into NAU. It sucks that you don't hear from them until february. I almost applied there but there's no way I would've gotten in with my GRE scores! My parents said, "if this is what you want we are happy for you" They still don't want me to be a PT haha
will you still pay the deposit?

Well we here at SDN are happy for you too! And we want you to be a PT lol

What do your parents want you to be instead?

Yep. If it's the first school you get into you kinda have no choice. There would have been no point in applying if I didn't!

If I end up going somewhere else though, then I just got had for 1000 bucks...seems like a racket to me...send out >100 acceptances to get 50 matriculants, and send them out earlier than the majority of schools so you are likely to be the first acceptance people get. Midwestern is bringing at least $100k from each PT school admission cycle totally for free...think about all the programs they have, they are bringing in several million a year from students who don't even end up going to the school...

I was Pre-PA before I switched to pre-pt and my parents are still wanting me to be a PA but after shadowing a PA I was not happy.

And I completely agree. I didn't apply to any in state schools because the major ones were in Chicago and I'm not interested in living there at all or Illinois for that matter. So regardless, the program I choose will be expensive. But it is crazy just how much they get from students just through the application process. I'm waiting to here from 2 schools but will most likely be attending midwestern

Have those of you that got accepted started looking for apartments and/or roommates? What places do most PT students live in and how do you find roommates (I'm assuming fb)?

I've been comparing apartments for a while and like Adobe ridge the best. Also, if you get onto the facebook page you could post asking about roommates. That's actually where I heard about Adobe ridge.

The on campus apartments are not too bad from what I've seen and heard...have you looked into them?

Idk, I've only looked into them from the perspective of a married person, not sure what it would be like with roommates. I know the cheaper apartments on campus are ridiculously tiny, but might not be too bad if you were living there by yourself.

Also, I probably should have mentioned that I'm moving with my dog so I have only looked into pet friendly apartments. I know that there is some on campus pet friendly apartments but I heard they were in buildings that were not as nice and the price wasn't much better for me either.

@ashnicolee43 @knj27 thanks for the response! I will look into both the places you guys mentioned a bit more 🙂

It's just overwhelming to find a place to live solely based on the pictures they post on websites lol.

Agreed. Looking for apartments can be a nightmare. Are you coming from out-of-state? Looking for an apartment in the city I already live in was painful enough, much less having to find somewhere to live out of town!

@Spartan2014 you should also get onto your portal and there is a list of apartments that give discounts to Midwestern students. Adobe Ridge is giving me $50 off per month plus I got half off of the application fees.

I completely agree with the out of state thing. I'm 24 hours away from Glendale and it's driving me nuts to not get to see the place I'm moving into before I live there for a year.

@ashnicolee43 Oooh!! Those sound like some great discounts! I will def look into it, thank for letting me know 🙂

Bumpity-bump-bump! Just withdrew my application, so I hope someone here who is on the waitlist hears back soon! 🙂

I declined my admission offer today, just FYI 🙂
