I was just thinking about how I didn't take advantage of the coupon...The school gives you a $9 dollar coupon to use at their cafeteria. Make sure you use it up. Load up on candy and drinks if your not that hungry (it's what the current students do).

hahah i got to the register and my grand total was $8.99 and I was thinking man i should go on The Price is Right! 😉

Don't worry about the DVD too much. It's not a necessity-- although there is a nice little brochure that comes with the DVD that has little tips and reminders for the interview day. I don't remember seeing anything about how to get around the town itself in the DVD though..

Hopefully, they don't cancel any more interview dates. I attended the open house yesterday and found out that they've cancelled/postponeed a couple of interview dates recently because they haven't had enough applicants to interview.

I suggest contacting admissions asap to get a current status on your interview session.

that's exactly what I mean...they're holding your app until they get enough applicants to interview. not worth it to interview only 4-5 applicants, especially when each interview has 3 applicants in it.

perhaps that's a good thing in the end...like not enough people want to apply to CPG so they'll be easier on the admission i wish~

That's weird. I thought CPG is a popular school because of the accelerated 3 yr program and its location (it's in Pheonix right? I heard some people don't like the location tho)

I guess it is still too early for most applicants to have completed their applications.

🙂 you've gotta ways to go...october pcat scores wont be released to test takers until sometime around thanksgiving...and then it takes longer to get those pcat scores processed by pharmcas BEFORE they forward your app to your chosen schools...and then you'll have to complete CPG's supp app before getting invite for interview.

they prefer closer to 30 interviewees per interview session. so we'll see. pharmD applicants are notoriously late in applying so they're expecting a mad rush after october pcat is done.

They'll still interview those people they've picked...it'll just be later than anticipated.

yeah, after reading this forum i check my interact now account excessively too. I was thinking, since our group was so small, maybe they're waiting for the next interview group and then evaluate us with them too? I'm not sure...have you heard anything from anyone else? I was hoping to hear from CPG by today because I have another interview this Friday to go to....but looks like I have to go through the whole nerve wrecking experience of being interviewed all over again...hahaha.

BTW, does anybody know how the rotations work at CPG? do they only get to the the rotations at 3rd year but they don't get any pharmacy experience prior to that?

as far as rotations, you start rotations 2nd year fall quarter and you can return home if you'd like if there is a rotation site where you live. then you start rotations again 3rd year winter quarter

i asked a few students if they work while going to school but all of them said they didn't...which I find strange because I think work experience is more important than didactic stuff. and at my pharmacy we even have 1st years interning 10-15 hours at least and already consulting.

I got the invitation today!! I'm so excited!!
I also have a problem... In my case, I am able to log in with my last name and the student ID they provided, but don't see the dates listed for the interview. The email says that I need to schedule through the web page.. If it still doesn't work tomorrow then I'll call the admissions office.

Each year = four 10-week qtrs w/ breaks in between. you also get spring break, christmas break, etc.

EXCEPT...3rd year = NO BREAKS...as if you are actually working...just regular holidays (2 days for thanksgiving, 2 days for christmas, 1 day for new years, etc). six 6-week rotations = 36 weeks out of a 40-week school year...don't know how much of a break you get in between each rotation, but I'm assuming little to nada.

had my interview today!! I have to say I am very impressed w/ the campus and staff.... and I was unusually chatty w/ all the other applicants right before the interview.. HOWEVER my heart pounded like crazy wen I was getting interviewed so I was a LOT more nervous than I wanted to be 😡

I really hope I don't get put on that damn waitlist. Apprently they only reject like ....barely anybody but just waitlists everybody. 🙁

Haha, you know what. I was the exact same way! I couldn't stop talking about everything and anything that popped into my head.. And my heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest. You are not alone. I'm sure most people are just as nervous at their first interviews too. 🙂

hi shannee, we only had 7 ppl so yes i think ur very right! but i didn't ask them if that they will be comparing us to you guys..

i guess if we all find out our results at the same time then ur suspicions are right!


as far as the waitlisting goes...i chatted with a lady who worked at admissions before during the line at cafeteria...she said they hardly ever reject anybody so yes, they do waitlist A LOT of people, which is something I am not too happy about because they should know approximately how many people ended up rejecting their acceptance every year and hence how many people should be placed on waitlist, instead of giving everybody false hope!

watch i get to be one of the few people ever to get rejected i'd be wishing about waitlist if that happens haha

haha well hopefully we can meet face to face at the CCP MCV! The interview was much like all other interviews lol....no weird q's and they weren't going out of their way to make me feel nervous and pick apart my answers 🙂 good luck!

After to talking to a few of them too none of them work because they seriously have NO free time to work. Since the program is accelerated it is not easy to hold down any other type of extra stuff. I met one person who was working 10-15 hours a week to help pay for school and she was really struggling academically.

I thought 3 year schools just require you to do all the extra classes in the summers...so that the regular school year should be the same course load as say any other other pharmacy school? or is MWU different? do they make you take more classes per quarter than other schools?

i applied to both ccp n cpg n i got accepted to cpg so u wont be waitlisted or reject cuz u applied to both campuses.
