i got my letter yesterday and got put on hold too 🙁. i guess being put on old is not a bad thing since its not a rejection letter. for those that were put on hold, what were your stats?
 
what are your stats oink. sorry to hear about waitlist..but at least you're not rejected like you said. do you think you did fine in the interview? i think they just waitlist a lot of people..or at least that's what people on this forum are saying.
 
i haven't interviewed yet. i guess the adcom reviewed my application and says that it is pending for future interview dates.

my stats:
3.2 overall
math sci: 2.8
3 yrs pharm exp
 
oh not to get your hopes up, but that just means they will interview you as soon as they have dates available. they probably just ran out of interview dates. I THINK!! i am not sure though.
 
They might be waiting for more applicants. The 10/5 interview had only 8 people and the 10/19 interview had only 7. So it looks like they don't have enough people to interview. Maybe they waiting for a larger group. From what I've gathered, it seems like its not worth it for the admissions committee to meet and only discuss 7 or 8 people. They'd rather have a larger group of maybe 20+. So being put on hold is not bad at all 🙂.

BTW, I can't stand the waiting anymore!! It's been 3 weeks. I called admissions and they said they are reviewing our interviews and apps TODAY!!!! and they told me to call back tomorrow to find my status! YAY the waiting game is overrrrrrr

Not to burst your bubble, but I got the exact same letter last year as well as this year and I didn't get an interview either... 🙁... But maybe that's because I submitted my application last year around late December... Hopefully I'll get one this year... GOOD LUCK!

I just found out that I got accepted to Sullivan!! SO at least I am sure that I will be going to pharmacy school next year!!!

Per admissions personnel I spoke with at their open house a couple Saturdays ago, this 'on hold' letter means that your application will come up for review repeatedly by the admissions review board.

At some point (differs for every applicant and also depends on the applicant pool variables) they'll either finally invite you to an interview, or send you the "thank you" letter.

If you waited until October to take the PCAT, then you'll likely get an interview if your PCAT scores are decent.

yea they said admissions decisions were finalized in a 3 hour meeting yesterday and they've been updated on interact now but it takes like 24 hours for the computer update...so i'll be checking obessively tonight hahaha

I'm Jeremy from the Oct 19. interview! I see you are anxiously waiting as well! It says on the Midwestern website somewhere that you can only get an application update via email or fax, not over telephone. Hopefully the interact now thingamajig updates sooner rather than later!

hello jeremy! nice to see you on sdn... it's so weird that none of the other applicants that i met r on here (perhaps they're lurking around) 🙄

i noe i selected the option to have the status update emailed to me...but i am just VERY anxious! i have a midterm tomorrow and i can hardly concentrate! pm me when you get any notification will ya?

I received an invitation today to a mandatory campus visit to MWU-CCP on November 14th! Woohoo!! My application was complete on 16Oct.

actually tim...i was on the other MWU-UNIV ADMISSION thread last night and a few ppl have their CCP MCV on the 14th...so maybe they ARE having two dates back to back? sorry if i freaked u out! :laugh:
 
Hi everyone, i got a invite to the nov 14th interview. I am flying southwest from Oakland international airport to midway on the nov 13. Is anyone from the bay area and flying in on that day as well? Maybe we can share a taxi?

CONGRAT!!!! When did you apply? I don't really understand this school, why do they ask for medical exam and shot in the application when they don't even accept you yet?

I didn't stay in AZ too long because I had school and work the next day. There's a mall about 10 mins away called Arrowhead mall- there's hotels around there too.

hmmmm....I have been checking obsessively as well but to no avail. Any word for you shannee? Maybe they just looked at the Oct 5th applicants during their meeting?

Just wondering if you have heard any word?

I called them right now because I couldn't wait for that stupid interact now thing to update. Anyways, they said it was taking a long time because they discussed both interview dates at the same meeting (10/5 and 10/19).

they said both of our interview date groups should have interact now updated in a day or two. but I would just call to find out ASAP
 
Hey shannee, this is Henry, the one who interviewed with you. Congratulations!!! I got in also.

I found out yesterday by calling them, since I my Interact account didn't change. At first, they told me to wait for it in the mail, but since I'm in Southern California, I told them that with all the fires we have I was worried that my mail might get delayed, so they went ahead and let me know over the phone.
 
i called and the automatic machine says they don't do status check via the phone... i didn't want to piss them off so im just going to wait for interactNow

booo... it's going to be a LONG weekend.

btw shanee/tiamat, mind sharing your stats and how well u think u did on the interview?

I have been lurking around this forum for a while and am getting antsier by the day.
I e-submitted on 10/13 and am waiting to hear back from Midwestern, they send out invites for the supplemental app next correct? And then they send out invites for the interview??

I am just so gosh darn nervous!!!! Does anyone know how long it took between e submitting and getting a supplemental app. invite?

work experience: Pharmacy clerk in retail setting for 1.5 years then Pharmacy Technician at a hospital pharmacy for almost a year now

EC's: lots of leadership at UCLA, clinics, costa rica medical mission trip, research, 3 quarters of teaching assistant experience

I'm really happy that I've been accepted considering a couple years ago I was about to quit and become a teacher. Just didn't think my GPA was that great because I got almost had all C's for 2 straight years at UCLA (very distracted there) In the midst of all that I decided to bump up my GPA which has been 4.0 ever since and score well on my PCAT and got my pharm tech license and here I am now! Soooo....I'm sure everyone well do great!

any suggestions on where I can find more info on the interviews???

I have a question.

I only have two months of volunteering experience at a hospital pharmacy.
Would it be even considered as pharmacy related experience?

Midwestern glendale is also my target school. I submitted pharmcas on 10/2 and got my invite for the supplemental on 10/12. I am also very nervous. I sent in the supplemental the next monday and have been checking my email almost hourly looking for an interview invite.... you should probably get your email any day now for the supp app.

I checked this morning and found out I have been accepted. For michelle and anyone wondering from the Oct. 5th and 19th interviews, you should be able to access whether or not you got in now.

Now the wait is on to hear from U of Minnesota! Has anyone received their actual acceptance letter yet? How long do we have to pay the $1000 place holder? I'm hoping like two or three weeks at the very least.

OMG!! The wait is finally OVER for me!!!!! They weren't kidding when they said 2-4 weeks....because this is the fourth week!! I've been accepted toooooooooo!! Congrats to all that have been accepted. Hope to see you guys this summer!

looks like everyone we know from the 10/5 and 10/19 interviews got in!!! thats awesome...but...now what?? I'm so torn whether to keep doing apps or to just completely stop? I like everything about MWU-CPG, but I'm not sure if it's because its the first school I have interviewed at? Any comments from people who've already interviewed at multiple schools?

Shannee, I'm in the same situation too. I already turned down 2 other interviews because I felt MWU would be a better choice for myself. I think I made the right choice but I have no way of knowing for sure.. I'm trying to push myself to finish the last 2 supps.. Buuut with school and work (AND knowing that I've already been accepted to a school), it's pretty hard. Haha.

Lau70 went on another interview after MWU's so he could probably offer better insight on interviewing at multiple schools. 😛

Per their admissions director: "2-3 weeks" for the $1000 deposit.

Hey Shannee, personally I have kept my options open. I was also very impressed with MWU CPG's curriculum, faculty and campus - but it is always nice to have options which gives you the ability to pick the school that is best for you and your future goals.

Just re-evaluate the apps you have out now and the ones you are still thinking about sending in. Saying that, MWU has now moved near the top of my short list of possible Pharm.D programs. 👍
