hey guys,
i'm currently a PS-1 at MWU-Downers Grove and reading your posts brought back so many memories from last year's application cycle since I was in all yours shoes just a year ago! Normally at CCP there is a mandatory campus visit..but it's not really an interview, but more of a visit to get to know the staff, school, and program better. There was an essay portion, but the remainder of the day was just listening to presentations, talking with current students, and touring the school. HOWEVER, this year they will be requiring a formal interview.
I applied to 13 schools last year and got 10 interview invites. Went to only 3 interviews before I fell in love with this school, and I've never regretted my decision. The school makes me feel as if they really care for me, the campus is beautiful, great friends to meet, lots of individual attention...a far cry from my public school days with 30,000+ people on campus. My stats: 3.2 GPA, double majored at a top public university (While a lot of people I know in my class have bachelors, there are still a lot of young folks (around 20,21 years old) who got accepted here without a degree), 93 PCAT. Not much experience besides shadowing a pharmacist, but good essay (IMHO). My science GPA wasn't so hot (around 3.0) but I felt I got interviews from so many schools because of my PCAT score and essay.
Feel free to message me or post more questions about the school..I'd be happy to share my application and current PS-1 experiences with you! Good luck!
