Midwestern vs Minnesota

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I know that Minnesota is actively implementing new curriculum so I'm having a hard time comparing the programs, any insights?
We have a new curriculum? That's news to me!

Do you have specific questions? There's a LOT regarding curriculum we could talk about and I'd be happy to provide the info you need (to the best of my ability)!

Looks like the website says
"The recently revised, integrated DVM curriculum uses active learning and builds the relationship between the basic sciences and the clinical cases graduates will see in their practices. During the first three years of the DVM program, students focus on the study of the normal animal, the pathogenesis of diseases, and the prevention, alleviation, and clinical therapy of diseases.

The program concludes with 13 months of clinical rotations in the Veterinary Medical Center, where students learn methods of veterinary care and develop skills needed for professional practice."

That kind of sounds like how tOSU revised their curriculum a few years ago (2022 I think), minus the flipped coursework, which seems to have worked well for them. There are usually growing pains associated with any change in curriculum, but I'm not sure I would let that deter you!

I made a funny joke and then realized I just can't read. I think Shorty may have been the last curriculum but my understanding is that all the current years have experienced the “new” curriculum

During the one of their info sessions UMN said that there will be a new curriculum starting next year, but we (c/o 2030) would be grandfathered into the current one. Could that be what you’re referring to?
