Did anyone else get a rejection letter from Midwestern today. I cant understand it, people with sub 3.0s get an interview and I was rejected. Now I am very very discouraged. 😕
Do you mind posting your stats?Did anyone else get a rejection letter from Midwestern today. I cant understand it, people with sub 3.0s get an interview and I was rejected. Now I am very very discouraged. 😕
Its not always about numbers...
oh wait, yes it is.
Hello all.....I have an interview in a few days and was simply wondering if anybody could offer some simple advice. I have been reading through the postings throughout the week and I am sorry to those who have been rejected. I feel the school does look at he overall package instead of scores. I have been a dental hygienist for 5.5 years now and have been trying to get into dental school for four its tough. I feel that I was granted this interview simply due to my experience in dentistry specifically my involvement in community/public base dental care and have some great letters from individuals involved with the state. Well, I thought I would give some info about myself if anyone would like to give a pointer it would be appreciated. Thanks
Hey Babbersher...I wanted to clarify your post from Predents.com.
You said 60 seats will be filled BEFORE Dec. 1st with the only 40 after that? I wanted to know if that was possible to accept before Dec. 1st or if you meant they'll accept 60 ON the day of Dec. 1st with rolling admissions thereafter. Thanks!
They can't accept anyone before Dec. 1, so they will accept 60 people Dec. 1 and then 40 after that. Actually it will probably be a lot more people after that since I'm sure everyone accepted won't attend. So is the interview a 1-on-1 or how is it set up, I aked above, but haven't been answered yet? Thank
I tried to add feedback, but it gave me an error.

I'm looking at YOU, Laos. Hint, hint. It was nice to meet you, LC.
They asked about 6 questions, 5 of them were straight out of the Interview section of SDN and the last was something off the wall. Even that one shouldn't be too hard, basically high-school level knowledge stuff. There are 2 interviewers at once scoring your answers. Super friendly and helpful people if you're nervous like I was. The dean is very cool as well; when he met us he already knew some details about each person and was very easy to talk to. Lunch wasn't so great b/c the school's cafateria had a long, slow line. They said they might take students to eat somewhere off campus in the fututre. You also have to fill out an essay of approxiamtely 1 page. They give you 4 questions to choose from. 1 question looked pretty tough from an ethical viewpoint and another was tough from a technical viewpoint. The other 2 were softballs. I chose a softball to answer. Maybe not the bravest choice, but otherwise my essay would have been a lot of drivel.I think it's because the interview will be something like ASDOH's. Meaning, part of the interview is random questions (political, geographic, etc), and they record what/how you answer. I don't know if there are actual "points" assigned to getting these questions correct, but there really is no way to prepare. I could be wrong, but because some faculty from ASDOH have gone to Midwestern to start that program up, it could be the case.

Those staying at hotels for the midwestern interview. Which ones did you choose? the link for the hotels on my email is not working.
I stayed there too.i got the Sleep Inn. the other cheapest on on the list (forgot the name) wouldn't honor the Midwestern rate because there was a baseball game in town. mine came out to be close to $70 after taxes and such.
Woohoo finaly got my first interview. Its for November 29th though, does that mean I'm going to miss the first round? Anyway, I'm pretty excited. How many people do they usually interview on an average day?
