It means that people can't continually renegotiate their 4 yr multi-year retention bonuses whenever they want to. They have to wait until the current 4 yr bonus is ready to expire before they do another one. Some people would redo their 4 yr bonus even if they were only 1 or 2 yrs into their current one. It does not impact any current pays that we receive.
