Ok, so no one's really answered this well enough so I thought I'd ask something a bit specific:

This semester I have been lucky to have been accepted to four medical schools but I have also gotten a pretty bad GPA. I normally score between 3.8-4.0 but this semester I got a 3.48.

1. Would this be a problem/risk for acceptance rescindence? (Wayne State, Oakland University, Central Michigan, Michigan State)

2. Is there any way I can get away with not sending updates to schools I am still waiting on (Miami, Boston University, University of Cincinnati, University of Wisconsin, and Indiana University-post interview).

In what courses and what are the specific grades? A "C" may be worth an explanation but would probably not cost you your acceptance. A "D" or "F" may be more problematic (although with a 3.48 it is unlikely you have either of those unless you are taking a very high course load and have As in everything else). Without more information, my initial thought is that you should be fine. If you had a 2.48, that would be a different story.

No one is going to rescind an acceptance because you have an A-/B+ GPA, especially if they did not make "maintain a GPA of at least x.y" part of their acceptance conditions. Relax, you will be fine as far as your acceptances go.

As far as schools that you haven't heard from, don't update them and wait and see. You never HAVE to update schools, unless they specifically tell you to do so. (and saying they are open to updates is not the same as requesting them). You have a handful of acceptances already, so try to relax; if you get in to one of your top choices, great, if not, you will still be an MD, so enjoy the time before med school starts as much as you can.

I don't think you need to worry about your GPA, but you can always check the conditions of your acceptances for each school. The ones I have are pretty specific about what they expect you to maintain (ex: written explanation of certain grades lower than C, etc).
