Does anyone have any information on how competitive a child fellowship at mayo or u of Minnesota would be to get into? AMG, "top 20" residency, no publications. Thanks!

my experience on the interview trail last year was that anyone can get into basically any fellowship you want at any place. its just not that competitive. everywhere i interviewed people said "oh we just sent so and so resident to harvard for this fellowship." especially since youre asking about the midwest i'm guessing you can get in if you do well in residency.

unless it is a situation where all the pgy-3s from the program decided to do child there, you shouldnt have any problem.

It really is impossible to overstate just how noncompetitive all psych fellowships are....

Univ of Minnesota shouldn't be a problem.
Mayo has national recognition and more competitive, however they ended up taking a resident from our program that wasn't a great candidate and was an IMG.
Mayo looks very favorably to publications, so not sure what your chances are. Definitely worth applying to.

Not sure about the last year or two, but I thought I recognized several of the previous Mayo CAP fellows being former Mayo residents, whatever you take that to mean.
