haha, that's a funny lookin face. Did you call around 1...because they usually are all out for lunch at that time. I 've gone up to their office and they are all gone.

OR, they could be up to something sleazy...

so are there any updates? Schwing, badgerpredent (or anybody else going to MN) is there an update in the number of confimed seats on that web portal?
I almost don't want to ask since I'm scared of what I'm going to hear, ahhh!

some ppl now going to other schools - i saw on here/predents one from VA changing to VCU i think, so there's a real OOS seat open...and one from ND going somewhere else.... that's all i've heard/seen.
 
Well I sure wish my roommate with our mailbox key would get home so I could go get my acceptance letter from the mailbox~! :xf:😀
Think I have one in there?

If someone out of state declines, does that mean that seat is going to someone out of state?

Just thought I'd put a plug in for the snow that's hammering us right now.


On another note, U of M canceled classes for the evening!
 
The count on the Webportal is at 95.

Also, I'm pretty sure that the total class size is 100, not 97, so there are still 5 more spots!

If only this were true! As a current D1 I can tell you we only have 97 students in our class including one who deferred admission from the previous year, a DDS/PhD student, and 1 who was originally members of the class of 2011. The quote near the bottom of the graph isn't accurate. We have 97 total students and the last we heard the magic number for this year is still 97.
 
wel im sure that those two acceptances have gone out and the people are just sitting on them waiting on their home schools... i just wish i knew whether i am even making the waitlist at this point

They said that there's no waitlist per se and we can be notified tomorrow or before the first day of school. They said that's the "wait list".....

oof da, thats kinda mean... i mean at least with a waitlist you know whether your top 10 or 30 or whatever size they make...

What?!?! No waitlist? So what if I set up a job for myself starting in September, and MN calls me Aug. 1st? Dropping that job would look really bad since they would have to find a replacement and train them.

Let's hope that they accept us tomorrow vs. Aug. 1st.

A lot of schools have unranked wait list, for example, Creighton... so you never really do know.

It's the name of the game. If you do not want to quit your job, I know several people who would buy out their rent lease where ever else they were going to attend dental school and head straight to Minneapolis.
 
so basically everyone that interviewed, but haven't gotten accepted yet are on this so called waitlist? does anyone know if people have gotten rejected after interviewing?
 
Don't know how often they update the student list but a friend of mine got a phone call last Friday (27th) and an acceptance letter in the mail on Monday.
 
Out of state. But don't give up. AADSAS checks to see who has placed deposits at more than one school early in May. These students are given a certain amount of time to designate where they will actually be attending and to formally withdraw from the rest. There tends to be spots that open up due to that.

hey dmdreaming, do you have any idea when MN will fill the remaining two seats. Will it be before spring break next week?

Hey everyone! Don't give up hope just yet. May 1st AADSAS will evaluate the acceptances and will give those that have double/triple deposited a time limit to make their final selection. This typically generates a couple of slots. Chins up!

Just curious, on average about how many applicants drop out from the U making spots available before the very last day of acceptances?
 
I don't know an exact number but at least 4 of my classmates received acceptances after May 1st last year. There may be more but I don't know the history of every student in my class. Keep in mind this number varies from year to year. I can only answer for what I know.
 
Well, my hopes in getting into the U this cycle are gone 🙁. I checked my AADSAS status and I was declined. I did get an interview with them Nov 08 and was rejected. So I'd thought I'd let you guys know that the U have started to decline interviewed applicants. I guess there's next cycle 🙂
